URGENT - Please Help send Aimee on a Trip of a Lifetime!

Dear Fellow Equine Enthuiasts,

Every now and then we are reminded how lucky we are to be healthy, to be able to do all the horsey things we like to do with realtive ease.

Please read the attached story that ran in the Sunday Times this week about 19 yo Aimee Blakiston.  She has been a keen horserider and competitor from the age of 5 until she was struck down with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension and last year she urgently needed a heart lung transplant.  Lungs were found for her from the Eastern States and although the operation was successful, Aimee has not been able to walk since the operation and has ongoing health issues.

By sheer will and determination Aimee has begun riding again and began competing in para equestrian dressage. Last weekend she came from her hospital bed to compete at the State Dressage Championships at the SEC.  This brave battler won her section and now she would like to fullfill her dream of competing in an international equestrian event.  Here’s where we need YOUR HELP!  As this has been a last minute decision that Aimee should make this trip time is extreemly short to help raise funds. Aimee is due to fly out next Sunday and her family are having trouble getting sponsorship and funding.

If you have a spare dollar or two or know a company who could help make  a trip of a lifetime come true, then please contact the Clareremont Theraputic Riding Centre who are helping Aimee realise her dream.  All donations are tax deductable so lets all get together for a fellow horse rider less fortunate than ourselves, put your hand into your own and your companies corporate pockets and lets help make this a trip of a lifetime for Aimee!

The EFA Dressage Promotions and the Interschools Sub-Committees have already donated so now it’s up to other equestrian clubs/organisations and businesses and individuals to pitch in and help Aimee achieve her dream.  For further information please contact M’Liss Henry at Claremont Theraputic Riding Centre 0412 571121, Nell Henry 0409992491 or Jacqui Moon 0417124352. Donations can be direct deposited to Claremont Theraputic Riding Centre, BSB 016281, Acct No: 496261852.

Please send this email to all your horsey and non-horsey friends and business associates and I’m sure together we will make this happen!
