EFA Clubs
ATTENTION - All EFAWA Committee Members, Affiliated Club Committee Members, Committee members of PCAWA, and Adult Riding Clubs Committee Members
The EFAWA will be hosting a Committee Management Workshop on Tuesday 29th April 2008 at 6.00pm, to be held in the Ocean Foam Room at the SEC. This workshop will be facilitated by Mr Bob Welch, former Executive Officer of the Sports Federation of WA, currently running the National Titles of Surf Lifesaving. Mr Welch has a wealth of knowledge in the area of committee management.
It is strongly recommended that as many people as possible attend this workshop, as it can only serve to enhance your experience of serving on a Committee. I would urge all of you to pass this on to any committee members who you know do not have email addresses, or members of all Promotions Committees.
There is no charge for the workshop, and light refreshments will be available on the night. Please register through the EFAWA office for attendance at the workshop.

EVENTING NEWS
News from Sonja
Sonja is currently in Melbourne where she competed in the Wandin CIC*** lastweek.
Wandin is a vey attractive rather hilly course where it is often hard to make time in the cross country. Jaguar managed to lead
the field after dressage. Show jumping for the CIC*** was held before XC. Therefore jaguar thought that he should do steeplechase over the show jumping course.
As a result he just rolled out a rail over an oxer. However he made up for that with a fast clear XC, being the only horse in the field to make time so he won by 16 penalties from Wendy Schaffer who competed with her two elite listed horses.
Parkiarrup Foreign Liaison (Ben) competed in his firstCIC*** and still finds dresszage at this level very challenging but he
jumped both XC & showjumping clear and had the second fastest time of the day so finished in 6th place in quite a strong field That was very
pleasing.
Le Directeur was not qualified for a CIC*** so ran in the CNC*** where he gained a qualifying result and won the class.
All three horses are fit and happy with comfortable paddocks and stables, while Sonja is going to the Gym regularly to keep up her own
fitness while she is not busy doing any farm work. Plans keep changing but after serious discussions with the high
performance management it has been decided not to take Jaguar to Europe at this stage now that Sydney seems certain to run without too much concern with EI. This of course makes life simpler for Jag as he does not have to do so much travelling and it is not planned to return
to WA until after August if all goes well but we have certainly learnt that plans can change at any time.
At Sydney, Jaguar will be competing in the CCI*** while the two younger horses will both do the CCI**.

Our sport needs your Help!
For those of you who may be interested in becoming an official in Eventing,
EFA National have released a document that outlines the requirements for officials/Course designers and requirements to upgrade official status.
We have a real shortage of officials in our sport so please think about giving something back so that we can maintain the longevity of our sport. If we do not have officials then we cannot run events! Please have a look at what is required - MORE
