DRESSAGE SUMMER SERIES

"There are only two competitions left in the Summer Series before the High Point Rugs are awarded.  Please help us to make these two competitions run smoothly by volunteering your time to assist in any way.  Also, entries for the 10th will not be accepted after 5pm on Monday, no entries received on tuesday will be accepted, so if you are going to post them, do it now!!  There will be a sausage sizzle on the 10th at 1:30pm when the DFK Rugs are awarded, and a small end of competition celebration will be held upstairs on the balcony at the completion of the competition.  We would love to open the bar, but in order to do this will need donations, so please let me know if you would like to provide a donation for the End of Competition celebration.
Thanks

VOLUNTEER NEWS

THE GREEN SHIRT WORKSHOP, 21st February 2008 5:30pm

Across Australia, most sports have difficulty recruiting, training and retaining officials.  Equestrian sport faces a crisis with the continuing decline in the number of officials and volunteers staying with the sport.  Harassment, abuse and lack of respect have been identified as major causes. The aims of the green shirt program are to:

  • Make volunteers and officials easily identifiable
  • Raise awareness, recognition and support of officials and volunteers
  • Assist in reducing pressure and lessening abuse
  • Create a culture of support

The Green Shirt Workshop aims to introduce new volunteers to pencilling and gear checking, and to create a social atmosphere for volunteers and officials to get to know one another. The evening will begin with an induction to pencilling and gear checking and then after a break with light refreshments, will follow with an open forum to discuss any issues and feedback regarding volunteering and officiating in equestrian sport.  Without your feedback, we cannot improve anything. If there are any issues you would like raised at the forum please email: volunteercoordinator@efawa.com.au

SCHEDULE

 5:30pm – Introduction to Volunteers, 5:45pm – Pencilling Workshop, 6:15pm – Gear Checking Workshop, 6:45pm – Break, 7:00pm – Green Shirt Forum. Please RSVP your attendance by 13th Feb 2008 to volunteercoordinator@efawa.com.au or 9296 1200.
