Hi All, Christmas is almost with us once again - doesn't time fly! The EFA office will be closed from Dec 14th until January 7th and in the next week you will be receiving your Horse Performance Card Renewal forms and also an invitation to the 2007 Awards Night. In the mean time don't forget to come along on Dec 8th and have a look at the Stars of the future in action at the Bates Dressage and Showjumping Awards and also the Horseland Young Dressage Horse Championships. We all know how important volunteers are to our sport and on Friday 7th December the EFA is hosting the Volunteer Awards and Xmas Night which should be a fun and festive occasion. More info below.

EFA OFFICE NEWS *** Please note that the EFA / SEC Office will be CLOSED Friday 30th November*** Collections is now closed but still has room available for advertising – please contact Lorie Stals at the EFA Office on 9296 1200 or sports@efawa.com.au for information and prices. This is a great way to get your business recognised by your target audience. Collections is read by over 2500 people. Also – Handbook deadline is Friday 14th December. All eventing clubs and sport disciplines please get your handbook information in to Lorie at the EFA Office
Fireworks in the Swan Valley Here is a preliminary notice with regard to an event at Sandalford Winery on the 23rd of December, which will feature fireworks. This is just as a courtesy to any of our members and friends who live in the vicinity, to give them notice to make arrangements for their horses, if the fireworks are likely to have a negative affect on them.
EFAWA Presents the Bates Newcomers Award for Showjumping and Dressage Saturday 8th December at the SEC Dressage final beginning at 8am in the indoor arena. Our WA Interschool qualifying team will have their presentations after the dressage Followed by the Dressage presentations. The Showjumping final will begin in the indoor arena at about 11.30am with their presentations straight after at about 1pm.
Qualified Competitors - you have all received your invitations to compete. If you are not intending to compete please contact Meredith at the EFA Office ASAP so that an invitation can be sent to the next qualified person. Also, if you are intending on competing then please fill in and send your entries in ASAP. Thanks.
Dressage WA Promotions Inc will also be holding the Horseland Dressage Young Horse Championship in conjunction with this event and the YH classes will take place on the International Arena. See further details in the Dressage Section below.

Horse of the Year 2008 The National Show Horse Committee have decided that an extra class will be incorporated into State and National Horse of the Year events commencing 2008. Horse of the Year over 15h will now be split to Horse of the Year over 15h up to and including 16h and Horse of the Year over 16 hands. Dressage WA Promotions Inc - Horseland Young Dressage Horse 2007 Saturday 8th December at the SEC Starting at 11am on the International arena with the 4 year old round one class first followed by the 5yr old round one and then the 6 yr olds. Draw will be available on the web by Sunday 2nd First round is the EFA approved national YH commanded tests (for each age) to be ridden two horses at a time in the arena Second round will start with the 4 yr olds with all age groups using the FEI young horse test for their respective age group.
Priorities for Dressage WA 2008 - 2011 - Don't forget to send in your questionaire! As part of an on-going process in improving the sport of Dressage in WA, the Committee is reviewing the current Development plan. This will include asking all of you what you believe needs addressing now and over the next three years. We are asking all of our stakeholders to fill in a questionaire and return it to fiona@wacoss.org.au by December 10th. Volunteer Awards and Xmas Night and it should be a fun and festive occasion. The EFA(WA) volunteer programme has been awarded a grant by the Government to hold a thank a volunteer day celebration for our volunteers and those in the surrounding community. We are holding it in conjunction with Awards and Xmas night. our Please find the details below. The Equestrian Federation of Australia is recruiting volunteers for 2008.
