The Smithbrook Showjumping Derby to be held on 28 and 29 October at the lovely Smithbrook Winery near Manjimup will be the venue for an Inaugural Eventers versus Showjumpers challenge.
This much talked about challenge has finally come about!
Egos will be at stake as the State's best riders compete over this unique and challenging course.
There will be a team of 4 eventers competing against a team of 4 showjumpers over a course which has a blend of cross country with ditches and banks and some very challenging show jumps
With the picturesque surrounds of the magnificent Karri forest and the Smithbrook vineyard, the natural arena at the base of the Smithbrook vineyard provides an ideal setting for a great event.
Leading showjumper riders from around the state and Australia (including several World Cup qualifiers) will put their  horses through their paces on a world class course courtesy of International Course Designer Peter Cooke. Competing for over $10,000 in prize money the Smithbrook event is one of the richest in the state.

2007 SMITHBROOK SHOWJUMPING DERBY

The 7th Annual Smithbrook Showjumping Derby will be held at the Smithbrook Vineyard on Sunday 28th October.
What started out as an idea between 2 of the state’s leading showjumpers has turned into a signature event for Western Australia’s south west, thanks to Smithbrook’s support as well that of a growing band of sponsors.
With the picturesque surrounds of the magnificent Karri forest and the Smithbrook vineyard the natural arena at the base of the Smithbrook vineyard provides an ideal setting for a great event.
Leading showjumpers from around the state and Australia (including several World Cup qualifiers) put their beautiful horses through their paces on a world class course courtesy of International Course Designer Peter Cook. Competing for over $10,000 in prize money the Smithbrook event is one of the richest in the state.
After an active involvement over the past couple of years our regular host, Liam Bartlett, has seen a move to Channel 9’s 60 Minutes, allowing popular 6PR radio host Simon Beaumont to take over the reins (as you do in showjumping) as guest compere.
There will also be plenty of other great food, coffee, premium beer and of course fine wine available for all spectators.
