ALCOA CNC at Fairbridge 22nd & 23rd September - Programme

Report of Wooroloo II CNC 18/19/8/07
The Perth Horse Trials Association Committee ran our second event for the year last weekend.  In spite of quite a few scratchings, it was great to have 195 horses start the event.
The dressage phase was frustrating for the organisers, judges and marshalls, due to a very  oversized machine being transported along the Great Eastern Highway, delaying  many competitors, thus throwing the dressage times into some disarray!
The cross country course looked fantastic, thanks to the experience of our course designer, Wayne Copping, the amazing talents of the course dressers, the brush supplied by Judy Rose and the pine trees by Santa Pines, as well as the work that the Section 95 group from the Prison do prior to the event and the Bailup Equestrian ARC who supply and organise all the cross country judges.  The show jumping was again designed by Fred Freeman who always manages to produce fair, but challenging courses relative to each grade.
The weather on Sunday was very kind to us, and the forecast rain managed to go around us until the completion of the cross country, the CNC*** got a little damp for their jumping phase, and we all managed to squeeze into the marquee for the final presentations, thanks to the High Schools and Intro 1 classes having their presentations earlier in the afternoon.
The full results can be viewed on K Trials thanks to Pauline Dunham. It was a successful weekend for Sonja Johnson, whose now vast eventing experience was fully evident, with a win in the CNC*** on the much travelled and decorated “Jag”, and a quinella in the CNC** with her relatively inexperienced young horses, Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison and Le Directeur being separated by only 2.2 penalties.

The High Schools Team event was held again, and was won this year by PLC.
The PHT Club Champions awarded to members who entered in both events for 2007 were:
Senior Official:  Deon Stokes on SS Playtime
Junior Official:   Katie McGlinn of Maetsro’s Daughter
Senior Unofficial:          Deon Stoles on Gesusa Park Legality
Junior Unofficial:           Jacob Gliddon on Fenwick Pharaoh
Richard Kemp Memorial Trophy for the rider closest to the optimum Time in Junior Pre Novice:      Shannon Proudfoot on Rosemere Wipeout

A big thank you to all those who help out above and beyond their “helper duty”, in setting up and taking down all the necessary equipment and infrastructure, your help is invaluable and very much appreciated. Many thanks also to our Sponsors, some new and some who have supported PHT for many years without whom we would not be able to continue running both our events. A special thank you to the Department of Corrective Services for the use of their beautiful property, and the help and support they continue to give us.

Lost Property from Wooroloo last Weekend - 1 back protector, 1 drizabone raincoat, White eventing grease, Video camera plus battery, Black sweat sheet,  If any of these are yours please ring Wendy on 9573 1169
